A MESSAGE FROM THE SEESA BOARD – RE-OPENING

A Message from the SEESA Board of Directors

SEESA RE-OPENING

Our first and foremost concern is for the safety of all – members, volunteers,
instructors, staff and anyone entering the facility.

Under Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety legislation SEESA must protect all
its workers (paid staff, volunteers, contract workers) from hazards. COVID-19 is
recognized as a hazard so for the foreseeable future SEESA’s workers (paid staff,
volunteers, contract workers) will be required to wear COVID-19 approved masks
while conducting work at SEESA
. Instructors have the option of requiring
participants to wear a mask during their class.

We strongly encourage everyone, no matter what they are doing at SEESA, to
wear a mask, sanitize often and practice social distancing whenever possible.

We are very excited to host the Annual General Meeting on August 31st. Our
guest speaker is Martin Garber-Conrad, CEO of the Edmonton Community
Foundation
. Our Facilitator is Linda Wood Edwards. Do plan on staying for the
Wine and Cheese!

Class Registration Day is Wednesday, September 8th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Starting September 13th the cafeteria will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• The facility will re-open and classes and clubs will re-start on Monday,
September 20th.

With everything going on, we do need to ask everyone for kindness and patience.
SEESA has only 3 paid staff persons at the moment and they are not front desk
workers. We are working to fill the Volunteer Coordinator, Program Coordinator
and Communications Coordinator positions; meanwhile, we are depending upon
our incredible team of Front Desk Receptionists to help members register and
sign up for classes.

We acknowledge and thank the many members who responded to the recent Call
for Volunteers. If you have not been contacted it’s because we are currently
focused on the most immediate need – kitchen staff, Front Desk Receptionists and
Club Liaisons. Individuals interested in the Library positions – you will be
contacted in September.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, please do consider attending SEESA’s Annual
General Meeting. The following Wine and Cheese event will provide the
opportunity to renew old friendships, make new ones and celebrate SEESA!

Thank you…JudyLynn Archer, A/President
